Wolffkran and Vita agree global distribution deal

Tower crane manufacturer Wolffkran and lifting technology specialist Vita Industrial have signed a global agreement for Vita load stabilisation equipment to be offered alongside Wolff cranes for rent.
To help control suspended loads the Vita Load Navigator is a piece of machinery used as an alternative to a tagline. It connects between the crane hook and the load and counters load rotation using computer-controlled propellers to change direction. It can be operated automatically to stop load rotation or via a remote to control rotation for position.
More than 1,000 data points on the load are measured every second, allowing the system to detect movement in real-time. The system then adjusts the load’s position using high-powered fans to eliminate load spin, rotation, swaying or other problems that cause site damage or injuries, the USA-based company said.
What are the benefits?
It means there is no need to have someone on the end of a tagline, potentially in a vulnerable or dangerous position or situation. It is designed to reduce lift cycle times, increase efficiency and enhance safety. Vita said using the VLN can reduce insurance costs for the crane operating company.
Swiss-German manufacturer and rental company Wolffkran operates a rental fleet of around 800 tower cranes and the global distribution agreement allows the VLN to be deployed across the network of cranes worldwide.
“We are excited to partner with Wolffkran, a trusted and innovative player in the construction industry,” said Caleb Carr, Vita Inclinata Technologies CEO. “The synergies between the two companies to provide state-of-the-art solutions to everyday construction challenges will bring immense value to our current and future clients and partners.”
For his part Duncan Salt, Wolffkran CEO, is quoted as follows: “Aligning with Vita Industrial to enhance the worldwide distribution of our cutting-edge products, the Vita Load Navigator and Wolffkran cranes, will strengthen our commitment to propel the construction industry forward by integrating safety and technology seamlessly. Together, we will revolutionise the way construction projects are executed worldwide.”
