Tutt Bryant takes delivery of MLC650

Australian crane service provider Tutt Bryant has taken delivery of a Manitowoc MLC650 crawler crane.

The lattice boom crawler has a maximum load moment rating of 3,887 tonne-metres, increasing to 9,052 tonne-metres with the optional VPC-Max capacity enhancement system. Maximum boom length is 104 metres and the maximum luffing jib is 101 m. Power is from a Cummins Tier IV Final engine. The model has the Variable Position Counterweight (VPC) system.

The first job for Tutt Bryant’s new model was at the Australian Marine Complex near Perth. Tasks for the crawler included lifting 64 pipe spools weighing up to 250 tonnes and measuring up to 80 m in length.

Malcom Smith, Tutt Bryant national crane operations manager, said, “This crane is perfect for the installation of tunnel boring machines, infrastructure, road bridge beams, refineries, coal-fired power station shut downs, and wind tower erection and maintenance. Renewable energy is a significant market where we believe the MLC650 will succeed too.”

The model joins a number of other Manitowocs in Tutt Bryant’s fleet, including four model 16000 crawler cranes and Grove all terrain cranes, including GMK6300L, GMK5130-2, GMK4080, GMK4100 and GMK5100 models.
