Truck mounted Tadano to Germany

Grimmen, Germany-based Krandienst Lange has added a Tadano 50 tonne capacity HK 4.050-1 truck mounted crane to its fleet.

The HK 4.050-1 has a 35.2 metre telescopic boom

The crane will be used on a variety of projects from prefabricated houses to basement construction, the company said.

Launched in March 2021, the HK 4.050-1 is 11.11 metres long and 2.55 metres wide, and has a 35.2 metre telescopic boom. With the jib, the reach increases to 44.2 metres. Capacity is 7.6 tonnes at a radius of 7 metres and 4.2 tonnes at a radius of 20 metres.

Tadano said it designed the new four-axle truck mounted cranes with a focus on manoeuvrability. It has steered front and trailing axles. The second and third axles are closer to the centre of the vehicle than standard axle configurations, providing a 2 metre smaller turning radius than the preceding models.

On the purchase, Stefanie Lange, managing director of Krandienst Lange said, “We are particularly excited about the tridem axle. We already had an HK 50 with this axle and it really makes the cranes great to drive.”

“The HK 4.050-1 is very comfortable to drive. With the truck mounted crane, you can get to the job site quickly, and the compact dimensions and manoeuvrability help on cramped construction sites.”

Easy maintenance

“The Tadano cranes are just great. They run and run and run. When I look at the records we have for the cranes, I only see a maximum of two or three maintenance entries for the Tadano machines. I expect the same from our new crane – and my impression from the first few weeks with it is that it certainly meets my expectations,” said Lange.

The HK 4.050-1 can be moved with a counterweight of up to 4.5 tonnes without a special permit in many European countries. An optional trailer is available for more counterweight.

Krandienst Lange was started in 1997 and the fleet includes truck mounted cranes, lowbed trailers and loader cranes. The company has 30 Tadano cranes, three of which are truck mounted cranes.
