Thai high-rise contractor moves to Potain fleet

Syntec Construction in Thailand is updating its fleet of 30 tower cranes with new Potains.

The company, which is adding three new Potains each year, now owns 22 Potain-branded cranes.

Nayot Pisantanakul, assistant managing director of Syntec Construction, said his company’s close relationship with local Manitowoc dealer SB Siam, was a key reason for moving towards one brand.

The latest addition to the fleet was three MRC 225 As. It is a 14 tonne capacity luffing jib crane that offers a 55 metre working radius.

Nayot Pisantanakul said, “The MRC 225 A's popularity is growing with operators and developers alike. Working on major projects in the heart of the city gives it more exposure but we’re able to show the benefits such an efficient crane brings to job sites – particularly in built-up, crowded areas. We expect to add more of these cranes to our fleet in the future.”

The company is building the 38-storey UBC III Tower together with a six storey parking lot. Four of the company’s Potain cranes, including an MR 220, MR 90 and two MRC 225 As, are working on the project.
