Terex Cranes in Italy has unveiled a new 10 tonne capacity flat top tower crane.

Versatility was a key element in the performance of the new CTT 222-10, Terex said. As a city class tower crane it needs to be adaptable to a multitude of urban environments, including smaller and more restricted job sites. High spec features are included to help achieve this.

Terex Power Plus (TPP) allows a 10 per cent increase in the available power when needed. Engaging the Terex Power Match (TPM) function puts the crane into an energy saving mode. T-Link is the Terex telematics system allowing remote access to fleet data from anywhere with an internet connection and at any time. T-Torque is a slewing function designed to give better control and higher precision of movement. It includes customisable settings and operates regardless of the wind direction, type of tower or jib configuration.

Ease of use and adaptability

In addition to adaptability in application, the new crane is designed for easy erection and set up. Masts can be 1.60, 1.95 or 2.10 metres, again for maximum versatility and to help reduce unneccesary expenditure. Maximum jib length is 65 metres and the maximum free-standing heights are 54.35, 72.95 and 67.85 metres, on the 1.60, 1.95 and 2.10 metre tower sections, respectively.

For the crane operator there is the S-pace cabin for comfort and visibility. It has multi-function joysticks and a 7 inch (178 mm) colour touch screen display.

Commenting on the new crane Lee Maynard, Terex Tower Cranes global sales director, said, “This new model has already attracted a lot of attention and our first ten cranes will be shipping to France in the fourth quarter of this year [2022]. We are already filling the order book for quarter one next year, with more units planned to ship to France and other parts of Europe. It seems the CTT 222 is the right model, at the right time and in front of our competition. We must capitalise on this head start. It’s an exciting time and there are further models planned in this mid-size range early in 2023.”
