Dutch lifting specialist Schot Verticaal Transport has ordered four more Spierings mobile cranes that can be run on electricity for crane operation.

The latest order comprises three units of the SK597-AT4 eLift and one SK1265-AT6 eLift. It makes a total of nine cranes in the eLift range ordered by the company. Deliveries will continue until 2024.

The eLift system allows electric operation of the crane from a 16 or 32 Amp mains power connection.

Schot was the first customer for eLift, shown as a concept at the Bauma construction equipment exhibition in 2019. Delivery of the first unit, an SK1265-AT6 eLift, was at the end of 2020.

Roel van der Heide, Schot Verticaal Transport managing director, explained, “At the Bauma fair in Munich in 2019, we saw this new innovation in emission-free lifting for the first time. We were immediately enthusiastic and ordered the first zero-emission eLift crane directly. In the meantime, emission-free construction has become even more important and we expect that the demand will only increase in the future. The possibility to use the crane electrically from a small 16 Amp connection makes it possible to work emission-free at almost any construction site.”

Spierings said it has delivered more than 100 eLift cranes in total. In some countries tax advantages are available to crane rental companies for zero-emission equipment, the Dutch manufacturer continued.
