Lifting and transport service company Schlopp Kran & Transport, based in Stuttgart, Germany, has ordered six new wheeled mobile cranes from Liebherr.

The order includes LTM 1100-4.2, LTM 1070-4.2, LTM 1130-5.1 and LTM 1350-6.1 models. All the cranes have the VarioBase Variable Supporting Base option on the outriggers.

Martin Scholpp said, “VarioBase not only enhances safety but also makes the cranes much more flexible to use. When you inspect a construction site one day and the crane arrives there the next day, things often look completely different. The Variable Supporting Base enables us to react flexibly to changed conditions and work with optimised load capacities where space is at a premium.”

The first of two LTM 1100-4.2 all terrains ordered has already been delivered and used to erect a mobile phone mast for BOS-Technik in Balderschwang in the Allgäu Alps. The 4-axle wheeled mobile telescopic crane has a 60 metre boom and a hook height of 56 m at a radius of 20 m.

To get to site it had to climb up steep gravel tracks and around tight bends to an altitude of 1,500 m to erect the mast, a spokesperson said. Once on site it was used to lift a weight of 8.7 tonnes at a radius of 19 m above the front right support.
