Scandiuzzi boosts fleet with Terex RTs
18 May 2022
Scandiuzzi Steel Constructions in Italy has added a pair of Terex Cranes TRT 80 rough terrains to its fleet.
The international provider of construction and engineering equipment and services acquired the new cranes via Italian dealer Tecno-Gru. Expertise and knowledge provided by Tecno-Gru on Terex Cranes was a key factor in securing the deal, Terex said.
Andrea Pavoni, Tecno-Gru sales director, said, “Tecno-Gru is proud and honoured to have sold to Scandiuzzi Steel Construction these two new Terex TRT 80 cranes, crowning a relationship that has been going on for years with the prestigious company from Treviso, a national and international reference point in the metal construction and oil and gas markets.”
What was needed?
The requirement was for cranes to handle uneven and unstable terrain. Long reach and high capacity from a compact machine were also a prerequisite. The 80 tonne capacity TRT 80 has a 42.1 metre telescopic boom giving a maximum tip height of 45.0 metres.
Jobs for the new cranes will include handling large steel components, assembly and erection tasks in the port, lifting and assembly on construction sites, plus general loading and unloading equipment and materials in the yard.
Long experience
Scandiuzzi has more than 50 years of experience supplying engineering services and equipment for construction, industrial and oil and gas markets around the world. It operates throughout Europe, in United States, Middle East, South America and Thailand, among others. Construction activity includes infrastructure, for example, bridges and viaducts and industrial chimneys. Oil and gas work includes vessels and containers for gas and liquids.
The TRT 80 and TRT 90 were launched in 2021, as was the smaller TRT 35.
