Van der Vlist helped with the transportation of a Komatsu WA800 from Norway to a copper mine in western Romania.

The machine weighed 102 tonnes and measured 4 metres wide, 5.2 m high and 14 m long. Due to the size of the machine and the distance between the two sites, it was transported by a combination of ferry, barge and low loaders.

For the first stage of the journey the wheel loader was transported by ferry to the Netherlands. From here it was moved onto a barge and moved to the Van der Vlist technical service facility in Groot-Ammers.

On arrival at the facility, the machine was dismantled into 14 sections. The sections were then loaded onto semi low trailers and tilt trailers and transported by road to Romania. In total, four trucks were needed to transport the sections.

After travelling by road through six countries to Romania, the machine arrived on site and was re-assembled and put to work.
