Rocket Crane used a 250 tonne capacity Link-Belt ATC-3275 all terrain crane to reloacate a 59 tonne Metso Lindemann steel shear for Northern Metals Recycling Company in Minnesota, USA

Rental company Rocket Crane Service in the USA chose a Link-Belt ATC-3275 all terrain for a project to relocate a 140,000 pound (59 tonne) steel scrap shear.

Northern Metals Recycling Company in Minnesota asked Rocket to move the Metso Lindemann LS600 shear from a temporary location to a new permanent foundation. Choosing the 275 US ton (250 tonne) capacity all terrain crane allowed the job to be done using one crane instead of the originally planned tandem lift, Link-Belt said.

The final load with rigging was 144,000 pounds. (65 tonnes) and it was swung at a 30 foot (9.1 m) radius. Once the shear was placed on the reinforced concrete piles with embedded steel plates, it could be properly powered, maintained, stabilised and levelled for long-term operation. The 5,400 psi shear cuts steel up to three inches (76 mm) thick.
