Karun, Manitowoc’s dealer in Turkey, has sold around 30 Grove all terrain and rough terrain cranes to several rental companies in Turkey since the beginning of 2013.

The cranes, which include the GMK4100L, GMK6300L, GMK5220, GMK5170, GMK5100, GMK4100 and RT765E-2, were ordered in response to the rising construction industry, a company spokesperson said. All but three of the cranes were sold to rental companies.

Ersan Öztuna, co-founder of Karun, said, “There is high demand for cranes that can handle a huge variety of work efficiently, so features that make cranes easier to use and quick to set-up are a priority.”

Murat Molva, co-founder of Karun, added, “With several giant projects scheduled to get underway over the coming year, we expect sales to continue at a very strong rate.

The cranes will be used on a number of infrastructure and general construction projects throughout Turkey, including the new Istanbul airport, the construction of a third bridge over the Bosphorus Strait, several highway and high speed rail projects, and a number of large scale residential complexes.
