A pair of record breaking tower cranes are among six Liebherrs on a site in Hong Kong.

The two Liebherr 280 ECH-16s are installed free standing with a hook height of 53 m. They are the first models to comply with Hong Kong's wind code for meeting regulations during the typhoon season, which, previously, meant hook heights were restricted to 49 m.

The other four tower cranes on the multi-towered residential Area 77 development in Ma On Shan were erected to 40 m hook height due to overlapping on the six 25 storey towers. Work includes lifting and placing pre-cast wall panels weighing up to 10 tonnes.

Another 280 ECH and three 200 ECH towers make up the six. All are from local distributor Shriro Machinery and are floor climbing with a maximum hook height of 110 m. The 280s have 35 m jibs, two of the 200s have 30 m jibs and the third is 40 m.
