Programme published for ITC tower crane conference

18 December 2014

The programme for the 2015 International Tower Cranes (ITC) conference is nearing completion, with high-level presentations on a wide range of topics, including crane foundation loads, the worldwide rental market, operator access hoists, Japanese luffing jib cranes and attracting new talent to the industry.

The keynote address on the worldwide tower crane market will be given by Philippe Cohet, chairman of Arcomet, while renowned tower expert Heinz-Gert Kessel will report on the lessons that can be learned from the engineering design of Japan’s luffing jib cranes.

The event, which is organised by KHL Group and International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine, will be held in London, UK, on 27 and 28 May 2015. The event starts with an evening networking reception on the 27th followed by the full-day conference on the 28th.

The programme, details of speakers, and the online booking page, are at: www.khl.com/itc

The conference includes two round-table panels: one on tower crane foundation loads – and with presentations on new FEM and CIRIA guidelines – and a second on operator access hoists for tower cranes.

Dave Holder, director and general manager of HTC Plant, will consider how the industry can attract young talent, and Jean-Charles Delplace, business development manager at Trimble Navigation, will look at the management of cranes on ‘connected’ sites.

Just two or three speaker slots remain to be filled. If you would like to make a presentation at the conference please contact either Alex Dahm, International Cranes and Specialized Transport editor ([email protected]), or Murray Pollok, KHL Group events director ([email protected]).
