New Sao Paulo bridge

22 May 2008

Brazil-based contractor Camargo Correa is building the country's largest single-line pre-stressed cable-stayed bridge with the help of a Liebherr tower crane. The 170 m long, twin-deck bridge will cross the Rodovia Presidente Duta twin three-lane airport expressway in Sao Paulo and include new elevated access roads. It is designed to alleviate permanent traffic congestion in the industrial and business district. The Liebherr 130 HC tower crane is lifting formwork and rebar until the cables are ready for installation. Hook height is 55.5 m and 40 m jib length at the end of which is a lifting capacity of 2.65 tonnes.

Topping out of the bridge is forecast for October 2008.
