Scheuerle and Nicolas launch the upgraded EuroCompact

TII Group will launch upgrades of two trailers at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, Germany in September.

Scheuerle and Nicolas, part of the TII Group, will present their new generation EuroCompact trailer, now more compact than before.

The extra compactness was made possible by an off-set coupling between the axle lines of the dolly bogie unit, said the manufacturers. Consequently, the length of a combination comprised of a retractable gooseneck coupled with a 2-axle dolly bogie, for example, corresponds to the length of a 2-axle compact dolly.

"In the construction, great attention was paid to realising a particularly wide, 900 mm, and distinctive vehicle body, positioned very low, 550 mm, above the surface of the road, for the rear bogie unit," said a company spokesman.

The EuroCompact has a very good tare weight/payload ratio, added the spokesman. The increase in payload capacity results primarily from weight optimisation applied over the entire vehicle. It features a 65° steering angle on the front pendulum axle dolly and 60° for the rear bogie.

Kamag Wiesel

TII Group's third company Kamag Transporttechnik will also present its new generation offering in the form of the Wiesel. Since its launch in 1994, almost 1,700 Wiesels have been sold in Europe. The Wiesel is a swap-body lift truck with an ergonomic driver´s cab, featuring a low boarding height and hydrostatic drive.

To allow the operator more comfort and switch operations to take place considerably, the driver can pneumatically adjust the buffer from C 715 to C 745 while remaining in the cab. "Thus it is ensured at all times that the swap body is always correctly positioned during handling and can be locked without any problems," said a company spokesman.

The vehicle is equipped with an automatic locking device for the swap body with a hydraulic container locking mechanism. In addition, the vehicle features a trailer coupling for maneuvering trailers and carriages which includes air and light connections.

Furthermore, a reinforced fifth-wheel plate including a pneumatic unlocking device is provided in the driver´s cab which is available with immediate effect, added the company.
