New Australian base for Tadano

09 August 2010

Tadano Oceania has opened a new facility in Brisbane, Australia, from which it will offer sales and service.

Futoshi Kimura has been named managing director of the operation, which includes administration offices and extensive workshops, (see image box). Previously, Kimura was the sales manager for the Tadano Asian market. He also spent five years working for the Tadano group in Germany, at the Tadano-Faun factory.

"With such an extensive background with Tadano in Japan, Asia and Europe, his [Kimura's] product knowledge and his links to the factory are first rate," said Peter Shelton, Tadano Oceania operations manager. "There are some exceptional new cranes coming through soon. There is a new 60 tonne truck crane coming from our Japanese plant and the Tadano Mantis telescopic boom crawlers add a whole new range of advanced crane technology."

Shelton continued, "Already, we are selling and delivering new Tadano cranes to Australian customers. Our parts support is established and our Brisbane service workshop is well on the way to being fully fitted out and operational."

Tadano Oceania is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japanese crane manufacturer Tadano Ltd, covering the Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea markets.
