New Ainscough depot

UK company Ainscough Crane Hire has opened a new depot in Invergordon, Scotland. It says that the new depot will help it better serve existing and new customers, as well as help it grow its wind energy offering. 

Ainscough already had a base in Invergordon which has been superseded by the new 27, 852 sq ft facility. According to Ainscough, the facility is fully under cover, providing protection for the depot’s fleet of cranes and a better working environment for its staff. The additional space provided by the site has enabled the creation of a crane workshop and garage. This, it said, will allow the depot to be fully self-sufficient with the ability to service, inspect and maintain its own cranes.

Ainscough said that the new and improved depot reaffirms its commitment to supporting both existing customers and the developing renewable wind energy sector. According to Ainscough, the sector has continued to expand with both large and small scale wind farms becoming increasingly popular. Ainscough said it has been involved in the construction, lifting, transport and installation of over 3,000 wind turbines.

The new depot will additionally allow Ainscough’s Scottish operation to expand its work in infrastructure, where it already supports customers with replacement and expansion projects in electricity generation and distribution through substation works and pylon erections and replacement. The team also regularly undertakes work for national construction firms at numerous sites across the Scottish Highlands and Moray, Ainscough adds.
