A new Tadano CC 88.1600-1 crawler crane has been ordered by KGA / NBTC Group in Kuwait.

The 1,600 tonne capacity lattice boom model has a maximum load moment rating of 27,456 tonne-metres. It can achieve a maximum hook height of 231 metres.

NBTC already has Tadano cranes. “We not only have numerous Tadano all terrain cranes in our fleet, but also three lattice boom crawler cranes: two CC 38.650-1s and a CC 24.400‑1,“ said KG Abraham, KGA Group chairman.

Fleet flagship

“NBTC has now ordered a Tadano CC 88.1600-1 crawler crane with its capacity of 1,600 tonnes – a significant upgrade for the fleet with the crane’s enormous load moment of close to 27,500 tonne-metres,” Abraham continued.

KGA / NBTC will use the crane for upcoming projects in Kuwait. It will also be put to work on all types of infrastructure and oil and gas projects throughout the Middle East, both for in-house and external clients.

NBTC has a fleet of more than 4,000 vehicles and pieces of construction equipment, including 200 cranes and 46 multi axle trailers. Many of its customers are in the oil and gas sector.

KGA Group is scheduled to take delivery of the new giant crane in the second quarter of 2023.
