National Crane announces NBT60XL boom truck

Manitowoc continues to expand its boom truck range with the addition of the National Crane NBT60XL.

“The NBT60XL is set to take on all competitors in the 60 US ton market,” said Bob Ritter, product manager of boom trucks at Manitowoc. “Whether it be a boom truck or truck crane, this machine features the best combination of boom length and load chart capacity with a sturdy operator feel and plenty of comfortable manoeuvrability to get to and from any jobsite. Additionally, its commercial truck carrier adds a level of comfort, customisation and travel speed not yet available to the truck crane market.”

The NBT60XL has a 151 foot (46 metre) five-section, full-power boom based on the NBT60L. It is designed to give good reach while remaining easily roadable. Overall vehicle length is under 45 feet (13.7 metres), the company said. With the optional 36 foot (11 metre) offsetable lattice jib, reach can be increased to a 196 foot (59.7 metre) maximum.

To increase versatility there is a hydraulically removeable counterweight configurable from zero to 16,000 pounds (7.3 tonnes), allowing it to take on much heavier picks, Manitowoc said. The National Truck Crane package gives additional jobsite setup flexibility with four outrigger positions, optional two-camera system for increased jobsite visibility and a integrated wireless wind speed indicator.

“To get even more capacity and maintain overall agility, these truck crane-style counterweights offer many combinations allowing operators to take what is needed for the job and still meet any roading regulations,” added Ritter.
