Nanjing King orders from MacGregor
11 October 2013
Chinese shipping company Nanjing King Ship Management has ordered 20 MacGregor cranes.
The order includes five 36 tonne capacity cranes with an outreach of 26 metres, 10 twin-GL cranes and five 50 tonne capacity cranes. They will be fitted on four new 38,000 tonne deadweight general cargo ships which are currently under construction at Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding, China. The vessels are scheduled for delivery between late 2014 and early 2015.
Svante Lundberg, MacGregor cranes sales manager, said, "The mix of cranes is designed to provide high levels of cargo handling efficiency. The nature of a general cargo vessel means that the arrangement of the cranes has to deliver high levels of flexibility for loading and discharging an extremely variable cargo profile; we have worked closely with all parties to develop the best configuration."
Delivery of the cranes is planned between 2014 and the beginning of 2015.
