Distribution in Australia by Manitowoc of the TRT PC25 pick and carry crane ended on 30 June 2014. The USA-based manufacturer Manitowoc Cranes will no longer offer the 25 tonner that is manufactured by Tidd Ross Todd Ltd in New Zealand. It started in June 2013 but has now said that it no longer feels able to properly support and market the PC25, in addition to its own full range of mobile, crawler and tower cranes. Manufacturer TRT, also Manitowoc, Grove and Potain dealer for New Zealand, will now offer sales and support directly in New Zealand and Australia.

Announcing the end of the arrangement, Kelvin Kent, general manager for Australia and New Zealand at Manitowoc Cranes, said, “We were happy to offer the PC25 pick and carry crane to our customers as it’s a product we don’t currently build ourselves. However, with the sales market for cranes under pressure in Australia, we no longer felt we could support and develop this crane in the manner it needed. This feeling is understood by TRT. The relationship between our company and TRT stretches back four decades and we will continue to work together as partners for the sale of Manitowoc products in New Zealand. We also wish TRT well as they develop their own sales network for the PC25 directly. Manitowoc remains available to assist TRT if needed in Australia.”
