Liebherr towers build Warsaw Spire

Crane operator Trinac Polska put Liebherr tower cranes to work on the construction of the Warsaw Spire in Warsaw, Poland.

The Warsaw Spire consists of three towers and will offer almost 100,000 square metres of floor space. The main tower will be 220 metres tall, while the other two will each be 55 m. It will be the tallest office complex in Poland.

The Liebherr towers on site include a 112 EC-H, a 180 EC-H, 256 HC and two 280 EC-H tower cranes.

During the first stage of the project the two 280 EC-H will be climbed up the building as work progresses, eventually reaching final hook heights of more than 220 m. They are each anchored to the building with four ties and will remain on the main tower until it has been completed.

Rüdiger Boeck, Liebherr-Werk Biberach Eastern Europe market manager, said, “Our hire partner Trinac Polska became involved in this project mainly due to its experience in similar construction projects, but also due to its extensive range of Liebherr tower cranes.

“Liebherr's Technical Department is also providing the hire company with support during the project. That is important for large projects like the Warsaw Spire where the requirements may change suddenly. Liebherr has made all its expertise available for this purpose.”
