Liebherr is to run more training courses for crane operators following the expansion of the facilities at its UK headquarters.

The company, which has been redeveloping its British headquarters in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, for some time, has now reopened its Liebherr Training Services (LTS) division, which boasts a larger area for product familiarisation and training than it previously did.

Liebherr said the larger facilities means it can now run more than one course at the same time and that it would also provide additional courses - such as the Liebherr Telescopic Crawler Crane training, which provides crawler crane operators with proof of competency on its LTR Series machines.

“The Training Services team is delighted to now be back up and running, having had to briefly suspend the delivery of external courses due to the construction works at Biggleswade,” it said.

“LTS specialises in the safe management of lifting operations and can be tailored to customers’ needs with full Liebherr certification awarded on completion of the training.”

According to the company, its LTS division courses - which range from the A61 Appointed Person (lifting operations to IPAF Harness training - are Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) and IPAF accredited. This includes the Liebherr Telescopic Crawler Crane training for its LTR Series machines, which “ensures operators are working safely and with a comprehensive understanding of the crane’s mechanics”.
