MSG-Krandienst used two Liebherr mobile cranes to help with the construction of a new bridge structure on the A5 autobahn at the Darmstadt intersection in Germany.

For the project MSG-Krandienst used an LTM 1750-9.1 and a LTM 1500-8.1. The LTM 1750-9.1 was rigged with 38.2 m of telescopic boom, 144 tonnes of ballast, a 12 x x12 m support base and it has a capacity of 44 tonnes at 32 m radius. The LTM 1500-8.1 had 36.9 m of telescopic boom, 135 tonnes of ballast, a 10 x 10 m support base and a capacity of 41 tonnes at 31 m.

Tasks for the two mobile cranes included lifting 50 metre steel girders into position overnight for the new bridge. The cranes lifted the girders in tandem and positioned them onto concrete pillars on the autobahn. The girders weighed up to 82 tonnes each.

During the work, several lanes of the autobahn had to be closed. This was so the cranes could be erected and the work could be safely carried out. The task was carried out over two nights.
