Roll Group and Laso Mozambique in Africa have formed a partnership to work together on specialized transport projects.

The partnership aims to offer solutions for the transport of goods both on land and sea in Mozambican territory, Roll Group said. Roll Group, which already has partnerships elsewhere in Africa, is further expanding its network.

Laso Mozambique specializes in providing road transport for conventional and special goods. Netherlands-headquartered Roll Group offers engineered shipping, transport and installation of heavy goods. Combining Laso MZ’s land transport equipment fleet with Roll Group’s maritime fleet, its crawler and wheeled mobile cranes, SPMT and its engineering capacity expands the market in which they can operate.

Full complement of services

In explaining the tie-up Miguel Matos Pinto, Laso Mozambique managing director, said, “Laso has been present in Mozambique since 2012 and we have constantly expanded our capacity to offer logistics solutions, including transportation and handling of heavy and project cargo. We can now offer customers our experience and long presence in Mozambique, together with the capacity of Roll Group to offer complete factory to foundation solutions, even for the biggest modules. Roll’s dock ships and deck carriers, installation equipment and fleet of SPMTs, as well as their engineering capacity are a great match with Laso’s capabilities.”

By land and sea

Roll Africa directors Patrick van der Meide and Harmen Tiddens were responsible for the new partnership. Tiddens said, “With our partnership with Laso, we are further expanding Roll Group’s network of long term dedicated partnerships in Africa with leading local players. This partnership offers unique value to companies working on projects in Mozambique; we can now provide ‘one-stop-shop’ heavy shipping, transportation and installation solutions. Laso has a solid fleet of transport equipment in-country already at yards in Maputo, Pemba and Palma, run by a capable and experienced staff. The Laso and Roll partnership ensures clients of seamless interfaces in the supply chain and safe and efficient execution of even the largest projects.”
