Kobelco crawlers for Mammoet

By Euan Youdale13 August 2010

Mammoet has ordered nine 250 tonne capacity Kobelco CKE2500-2 crawler cranes in recent months, according to the manufacturer.

The first three units of the original order for five, announced at Bauma 2010, have already been delivered to Santos Port near Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Their first project is the construction of a large Petronas dry-dock facility in Rio Grande, Brazil (see picture). There are already plans for a second dock, said Kobelco, reflecting what it described as the huge scale and pace of the expanding Brazilian offshore industry. The cranes are being supplied with 91.4 m main booms and 61 m luffing jibs.
