Kinshofer grabs Doherty

German crane and excavator attachment maker Kinshofer has acquired Doherty Group, from New Zealand.

Doherty Group in new Zealand acquired by Kinshofer

Doherty manufactures excavator attachments in Tauranga, New Zealand, and Brisbane, Australia. The acquisition adds product segments to the Kinshofer range, including quick couplers, buckets and other excavator products. Kinshofer distribution channels will also be improved in New Zealand and Australia.

Commenting on the sale, Jeremy Doherty, Doherty Group co-owner and managing director, said, “The concentration of knowledge and competence between our companies provides a platform and expertise that will enable rapid and responsive product development to meet new customer challenges.”

Thomas Friedrich, Kinshofer Group president and CEO, said, “Acquiring Doherty Group was the next step in our approach to be a local manufacturer in New Zealand and Australia.”

Kinshofer said that the Doherty management team will stay with the company and Jeremy Doherty will remain as managing director.
