KHL and Sobratema seal partnership

KHL Group, publisher of Construction Latin America (CLA), and Brazilian construction equipment trade association Sobratema, have signed a co-operation agreement that will see the two organizations promote each other's activities and presence throughout Latin America.

The partnership, which takes effect from September 1st 2011, will see both capitalize on each other's strengths to increase their market visibility and promote their ranges of products and services to construction professionals in the region. Sobratema's visibility outside Brazil will be enhanced through a regular column and other articles in CLA. The magazine meanwhile will reach a wider audience in Brazil through enhanced distribution that will include Sobratema's members.

The agreement was signed by Afonso Mamede, current president of Sobratema, and Trevor Pease, president of KHL Group Americas. The signing ceremony, was held at the M&T Parts and Services exhibition, in Sao Paulo in August and was attended by senior executives from KHL along with Sobratema's vice presidents.

"This is a great achievement for our publication. Our magazine is published in Spanish and Portuguese, and this partnership will enhance our presence in the Brazilian market, which represent some 40% of all construction activity of Latin America," said Mr Pease.

Mr. Mamede said, "This will be a very beneficial agreement that will see both, Sobratema and KHL develop a greater infrastructure and enhanced presence throughout Latin America."

As part of the agreement, Sobratema's will also contribute articles, comment and analysis to KHL Group's market-leading global magazine, International Construction (iC), again with mutual benefit to the association's international presence and iC's editorial content.

iC editor Chris Sleight said, "This agreement with Sobratema will improve the already market-leading quality of information in International Construction, while providing the Sobratema the global platform that is appropriate to it as the main voice of the construction industry in one of the world's largest and most dynamic emerging markets."
