The second Intermat Middle East exhibition and conference currently being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, has succeeded in attracting more exhibitors and visitors than the inaugural event held last year.

Official visitor figures are not yet available but initial reactions from exhibitors seemed to suggest that they were happy with the quality of visitor to the event.

This year's event is being held between October 8 and 10 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The event's standing was also helped by the fact that this year's it is taking place under the Patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Federal Minister of Public Works.

The show attracted a good range of international and regional exhibitors. There were stand groups from Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, Finland, and the UK plus companies from many other countries.

Looking ahead to next year it seems likely that the show will remain on a one year cycle and that Abu Dhabi will be the venue again. There has been some discussion about changing the date to a slightly cooler month but much will depend on exhibitor feedback and available dates at the ADNEC.
