Indian contractor takes on first Liebherr flat top crane

Indian developer and contractor Shantiniketan Buildtech, has taken on a Liebherr 71 EC-B 5i flat top crane to work on the development of the Shantiniketan residential building in Noida, Delhi.
The tower crane has a capacity of 5 tonnes and a maximum working radius of 50 m, allowing it to lift 1 tonne at the jib end, a company spokesperson said.
Construction of the residential building began in 2012 and is expected to be finished in 2014. The building will have five towers and 18 floors. The 71EC-B 5i will be transferred to the second tower once the foundations have been completed.
Project manager, B K Tiwari, said, “To ensure the highest quality of construction throughout we believe in buying the best equipment with top-branded products such as the Liebherr crane. To date, the Liebherr’s performance has been excellent with no problems, meeting all our expectations.”
