Machinery rental specialist, Duma Rent, has expanded its portfolio of mini spider cranes with the addition of five models from compact mini crane supplier Unic Cranes Europe, part of lifting products and services specialist GGR Group. The delivery will further boost Duma Rent’s operations in Belgium and France.

The order includes: two URW 706-2 cranes, which the company says are the first to be sold in Europe; two URW 295 models; and an ECO-295 spider crane.

The URW 706-2 has a new hydraulic searcher hook and provides a maximum hook height of 25.9 metres. It also has a narrow width of 1,670 mm, which allows it to fit through standard double doorways. The emissions-free, 48 Volt battery-powered ECO-295 spider crane was immediately pressed into service at an airport in Belgium.

Graeme Riley, GGR Group CEO, commented, “It’s fantastic to see companies across Europe significantly growing their spider crane fleet. The demand for these specialized mini cranes, to lift in some of the most compact and challenging environments, has never been higher. We are delighted to have been able to support Duma Rent with its continued business growth in the machine rental sector.” This claim of growth is evidenced by Duma Rent’s purchase of seven mini spider cranes in 2016.
