Grupo Mexico invests in Terex all terrain

Grupo Mexico Mining Company has taken delivery of its first Terex AC 350/6 all terrain crane and already has the unit at work on site at Cananea Mine in Sonora.

The new 350 tonne capacity class six-axle crane at Cananea is moving and maintaining crushers, screeners, drilling machines, trucks and other heavy mining equipment.

Supplied by regional Terex Cranes distributor Megamak, the AC 350/6 offers a 64 metre boom and a maximum system length of 126 m. It also has the IC-1 control system with touch screen interface.

Eng. Armando Juarez, Grupo Mexico operations manager, commented, “In an industry that demands the highest levels of safety, we chose this crane not only for its capacity, reach and flexibility but because of its safety features.

“The IC-1 control system makes lifting and rigging simple and efficient for our operators. They welcome how it maximises accuracy and speeds, and simplifies the way the crane works when handling even the most demanding of lifts.

“Rather than hiring each time, we wanted our own crane for more control and flexibility. The AC 350/6 means we can respond quickly and effectively to the day-to-day demands of the business.”

Grupo Mexico Mining Company operates 13 mines and is engaged in a further 13 exploration projects.
