First Terex Explorer for France

Crane rental company SVMM, based in France, has expanded its fleet with a Terex Explorer 5800 all terrain, the first unit in the country.

Arnaud Brouillard, SVMM owner, said, “Its compactness makes it a perfect crane for jobsites in an urban environment. The Explorer 5800 has roughly the same footprint as our Terex AC 120 that our operators are well accustomed to, this means they can operate it confidently in a very short time and work efficiently”.

The crane was purchased with the support of Terex Financial Services (TFS). Stéphane Levé, TFS country manager for France, said, “TFS is all about tailored financial solutions for our customers. In this case, we have worked in very close collaboration with SVMM and financial partners to put together the best possible financing plan for SVMM.”

It has a 5-axle, all wheel steer carrier, measuring 13.2 m long and 3 m wide, and can be configured with a 10 x 8 x 10 drive steer option and a 70 m 5-section boom. In addition, the crane has a 70.2 tonne counterweight that can be automatically rigged.

The Explorer 5800 is powered by a single Scania 405 kW (550 hp) engine complying with Euromot Stage IV/US EPA Tier 4 Final. It is also fitted with a Terex IC-1 touch screen control system, radio remote control and a 2.85 m walk-through carrier cabin with air conditioning.
