Moscow, Russia-based crane rental company Topkran-Rent has purchased four new Potain Hup 40-30 self-erecting cranes from manufacturer Manitowoc. According to Manitowoc, these are the first Hups to be sold in Russia. They will initially be used on a four-month project in Moscow.

The Hup 40-30 has a 40 m jib and a telescopic mast for a range of working heights. The crane’s luffing jib has three positions: horizontal; 10°; and 20°. These provide a height under hook range of 20 m (65 ft) to 40 m (131 ft). According to Manitowoc, the Hup 40-30 also has a slewing radius that allows it to be positioned close to buildings and a transport package that is 14 m (46 ft) long when folded, to facilitate moving between job sites.

Vitaly Laptev, general director of Topkran-Rent, said: “We chose the Hup cranes because of their high capacity from a relatively small package, and for their height under hook and versatility.”
