Unic Cranes Europe's new radio remote control with digital feedback

Mini crane manufacturer Unic Cranes Europe will present its new radio remote control with digital feedback at the UK-based Vertikal Days exhibition in June.

The remote control incorporates a unique graphical display, said the company, offering operators instant information concerning working radius, capacity and engine speed that was previously only available on the crane's engine cover.

It works in conjunction with the Rayco Wylie i3000 safe load indicator which provides a choice of full working area limitation, slew limitation and load moment limitation, as well as data logging facilities and feedback.

"The new remote is a step ahead in improving safer lifting on site for operators who need to work at a distance from the crane. The graphical display has auto-light level sensors so operators have full visibility of the information they need in various light conditions," said Graeme Riley, CEO of Unic Cranes Europe.

Unic Cranes is also developing a i3500 Wylie safe load indicator system that will be available later this year. This upgraded version will retain all the benefits of the current safe load indicator, said Unic, and include an event recorder, RS232 feedback and full CANbus system - all of which conform to new 2012 safety standards.

The company will also present a new range of crane attachments at Vertikal Days, including Unic fly-jibs and crane manipulator head. The fly-jibs are designed to complement the Unic URW-295, URW-376 and URW-506 mini cranes and will give customers up to 2 m extra radius.

The GL-UMC 600 manipulator head is designed to attach directly to the Unic crane boom and has electric actuators that allow precise movement of glass loads. The attachment comes with 95° rotation, ±40° swivel and 120° tilt and can be operated via radio remote control.

Vertikal Days 2011 takes place 22 - 23 June 2011 at Haydock Park, Newton-Le-Willows, Merseyside, UK.
