Anderson Crane Hire in the UK used a 50 tonne capacity Sany crawler crane in a bid to right a beached ferry. The Riverdance roll-on, roll-off ferry was struck by a freak wave on its journey from Northern Ireland to Heysham Port, England, leaving the 6,000 tonne vessel beached.

Anderson Crane Hire used its Sany SCC500D, with a 52 m maximum boom, to rearrange cars, trucks and containers, which had lurched to the starboard side of the ferry. Anderson became the first UK owner of a Sany crawler crane in October 2007, when it purchased the SCC500D from Watson and Hillhouse, the Chinese manufacturer's UK agent.
