UK-based tower crane rental company Falcon Cranes has invested in its training yard.
The newly refurbished training yard and newly built offices contain four large classrooms for both theoretical and practical learning.
Each classroom is equipped with the latest audio-visual technology. Learners can gain an understanding of theoretical knowledge, regulations, and best practices.
“As part of our commitment to training and recognising the need for comprehensive and modern training facilities, the company has invested significantly in revamping our training yard. By doing so this has created a first-class learning environment for anyone that would like to train in lifting operations and other disciplines,” said a spokesperson for the company.
The company can offer the following types of lifting operations courses (both in-house and to the industry recognised standard Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS):
Lifting operation courses include:
- Tower Crane Operator - Cab Controlled – Trolley and Luffing Jib
- Tower Crane – Trolley Jib – Remote Controlled (POTC)
- Slinger Signaller – All Types - Static Duties
- Appointed Person
- Crane/Lifting Operations Supervisor
Other courses include (with more due to be added):
- Work at Height
- Abrasive Wheels
- Manual Handling
- CPCS Plant Operative Health, Safety and Environment Test

The company has three cranes permanently on site and carries out training courses 51 weeks a year.
Falcon said learners can gain hands-on practical experience operating different cranes types in a safe and realistic environment.
The training yard’s programmes are offered to individuals seeking to enhance their skills and to businesses investing in the professional development of their workforce.
Falcon said its training can contribute to safer worksites and increased operational efficiency.
