Swiss company, Methabau, is using a Sennebogen 673 R telescopic crawler crane to help with the construction of the Eurobus welti furrer project in Bassersdorf, near Zurich, Switzerland.

The 14,000 square metre development will have a two-storey depot with room for 140 buses, a 170 capacity car park on the roof of the building, and a four-storey office building with offices and rental facilities.

Methabau is principal contractor and the crane was delivered by Swiss sales and service partner, Kuhn Baumaschinen. The 673 R has a four-section telescopic boom, a maximum reach of 36 metres and a capacity of 70 tonnes. It has a 30 degree tilting Maxcab, two cameras for extra all-round vision and a Sennebogen control and diagnostics system. With the crawler undercarriage retracted its transport width is 3 m.

Tasks on site include placing prefabricated concrete elements, unloading trucks and moving steel girders. Crane operator Andreas Sprecher, said, “The Sennebogen 673 telescopic crawler crane is perfect for this demanding application. The flexibility and stability are convincing, even under load I can move the crane safely, this saves time and makes the machine a reliable helper on the construction site.”
