Electric Valla for Eramet Norway

Mining and metallurgy company Eramet Norway has procured a Valla 50E DC electric crane from mobile industrial crane provider Manitex Valla Cranes.

A medium duty machine, the Valla 50E pick and carry has a 4.8 metre horizontal reach and a vertical reach of 7.3 metres. Weighing 5,800 kilogrammes, the model has a lift capacity of almost 5,000 kg.

According to Manitex, Eramet needed a suitable machine for changing out components in the company’s three furnaces. It is said that the company chose the Valla 50E with winch and hydraulic fly jib as it has facility for full pick and carry duties and produces no fumes.

Prior to the purchase the company had used forklifts and extension booms to change furnace components.
