Ed Bell buys Link-Belt 75RT
11 December 2018
Texas, USA-based construction company Ed Bell Construction has bought a Link-Belt 70 tonne (75 ton) 75RT rough terrain crane.
The company is using the crane on a US$30 million project to build new exit and on ramps for the Interstate 20 and Center Point Road interchange. Three miles of two-way frontage roads are also being redirected.
The 75RT is being used to lift 2,721 kg (6,000 pound) bundles of rebar, large concrete form panels, concrete buckets, and drainage culverts along both sides of Interstate 20. In addition, it is being used to position concrete finishers up and off of finished concrete bridge decks, and to place 10,432 kg (23,000 pound) traffic barriers.
“Getting a bigger, 75 ton crane with basically the same footprint as our older 50 ton rigs gives us better capabilities without retraining our current operators who are all certified up to 75 tons,” said Terry Killingsworth, Ed Bell Construction structures manager.
