Russian truck crane manufacturer Gazprom Crane, part of the NAMS trading company, has launched a 50 tonne capacity truck crane designed for off road applications.

Gazprom created the KC-6973 1, named Ivanovo Resident, with the Bryansk motor vehicle plant, also based in Russia.

It will be used for work in gas plants, among other applications, to which access is difficult for normal road-going cranes. "The usual 50 tonne cranes on the standard chassis do not manage this task independently," says Gazprom Crane.

According to the company, the crane can lift loads to 45.4 m and a 26 m outreach. The four section boom has a hexagonal profile and can work through 360 degrees. Improvements to the chassis, means that the crane can carry 10 tonnes of counterweight independently, making it ideal for working with gas and petroleum pipes.

The BASES -69098-011 chassis was developed by Bryansk motor vehicle plant. Its advantages include high speeds and load capacity and contemporary design, says the company.

It has independent torsion bar suspension, high ground clearance, and allows the torque divider and interaxial differentials to be locked. Tyres are wide profile with adjustable pressure. It has a 400 hp diesel engine.
