CPL and Heineken launch MEWP bar

UK-based Cumberland Platforms (CPL) partnered with beer producer Heineken to deliver alcoholic drinks through people’s windows during the country’s Covid-19 lockdown.

CPL and Heineken worked together to manufacture a MEWP equipped with a drinks bar in the basket, which has now been launched as Heineken’s Wind0.0w Service publicity project.

CPL, which provided the truck mount, worked with event design and production company MadeUp to create the basket bar and vinyl wrap.

The unique MEWP will be visiting London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh in April as part of a UK-wide competition. Winners get a pint of Heineken beer delivered through the window of their home by a celebrity.

International singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor and tv presenter RuPaul are among the celebrities taking part in the Heineken promotion.

Part of Klubb Group, CPL said, “This is something new for the access industry so we spent time making sure the project could be done while still promoting full safety for all involved in the project.

“We are proud to get involved in something fun after almost a year without our usual event timetable. We wish everyone that enters the competition the best of luck.”
