Compact electric crane launch

By Christian Shelton12 April 2021

Italy-based mobile industrial cranes manufacturer Manitex Valla, a subsidiary of USA-based Manitex International, has launched the V36R radio controlled compact electric mobile crane.

The pick and carry crane has a width of 900 mm and a maximum height of 1650 mm. Manitex Valla said this means it can pass through small industrial doors, bypass obstacles, and work in areas with space limitations. Its turning radius is 2155 mm and it has a low weight so exerts little ground pressure. This, Manitex Valla said, makes it particularly suitable for indoor use and in areas with sensitive surfaces – such as airports, shopping centres and industrial environments.

The V36R has a maximum capacity of 3.6 tonnes and a lift height of 7.5 metres. Maximum horizontal reach is 4.75 metres with a load of half a tonne.

The V36R has front-wheel drive powered by AC traction electric motors. The counterweights are removable for better transport flexibility.

Manitex Valla said the compact crane is intuitive to use and offers a high level of safety. Its functions include a 220 Bar hydraulic system, 180-degree rear steering, electro-hydraulic brakes and an on-board loader. Optional extras include a hydraulic winch and folding jib.

“The primary goal that we set ourselves in the design of the new V36R was to combine maximum performance and versatility of use while remaining in minimum dimensions,” said Carlo Forini, general manager of Manitex Valla. “This new model is the solution to the growing needs of safe handling of loads in confined spaces; a crane that can fully meet market expectations in terms of safety, performance, size and, of course, respect for the environment.”

“We all know how the topics ‘safe’ and ‘green’ are increasingly at the centre of the debate, it is no coincidence that we see that regulations are becoming more and more stringent globally,” added Steve Filipov, CEO of Manitex International. “Valla, since 1945, and even more today, proposes itself as a proactive company on this. Our mission is to offer solutions to help companies and rental companies to overcome the challenges of the present and the future. We offer our experience and technology to increase productivity by offering the better return both from an economic and environmental point of view.”
