MV Papenburg moves Rhenus’ port crane

Germany-based heavy lift shipping company Combi Lift has successfully moved Rhenus deep sea terminal’s port crane from Wilhelmshaven to Nordenham in Germany onboard the MV Papenburg.

To move the main body of the crane, it was driven on rails from the pier to Combi Lift’s deck carrier MV Papenburg. The crane’s boom and other auxiliaries were lifted by shore cranes on board.

The discharge in Nordenham was handled by shore cranes of offshore wind power company Steel Wind. The overall dimensions of the crane are 20.5 metres x 12.5 m x 39.7 m (l x w x h) with a total weight of 520 tonnes plus the jib measuring 47 m x 3.5 m x 3.5 m (l x w x h) with a total weight 40 tonnes plus counterweights.

Combi Lift is a member to the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network in Germany.
