The eighth Nationwide Platforms Working at Height Best Practice Forum

Now in its 10th year, the UK event brings together delegates from contractors, trade associations and manufacturers to help improve standards, and advance the safe operation of and shape best practice in powered access. 400 delegates attended last year’s Forum.

Mark Keily, HSE director for the Loxam Powered Access Division, Nationwide’s parent company, said, “The Forum’s purpose and ethos of promoting powered access safety through leadership, innovation and collaboration is as important now as it was when we staged the first Forum in 2008. Leaders set aside company and commercial interests to listen, share and learn for the benefit of the sector as a whole.

“The Forum provides delegates with practical takeaways that can be instantly applied to their operations, improving the safety of their staff and contractors. The event also provides Nationwide Platforms with unparalleled feedback on today’s challenges that, as always, we take away and work to resolve over the coming year, for the benefit of the industry.”

While the finishing touches are being put to the final agenda, key topics for this year’s event include:

  • A contractor’s view on how to control risks of working at height on a major project.
  • Sentencing Guidelines review: the steps to protect your business
  • Product innovation: the site of the future
  • A risk review workshop
  • Nationwide Platforms’ pioneering work in virtual reality workshop (first seen at last year’s Forum)
  • Powered Access Good Practice workshop
  • Manufacturers’ showcase
  • A telecoms-specific workshop

Delegates will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the expert panel discussion.

The day will conclude with a formal dinner to give delegates the opportunity to network, share ideas and good practice ideas while unwinding and enjoying the evening’s entertainment.

Phil Wainright, Interim managing director of Nationwide Platforms, said, “NWP is proud to host the 10th Working At Height Best Practice Fourm. We continue to work hard and innovate in partnership across the powered access industry with the best interests of everyone’s safety. It not only underlines our position as the UK’s market leader, but also our uncompromising passion for complete safety culture that bridges all sectors. We are looking forward to welcoming delegates to what will be an exciting and inspirational event.”
