USA-based crane and transport company Bay Crane has announced that it has made a major investment in its fleet, adding new all terrains, rough terrain cranes and transportation.

Included in the order were 12 new all terrain cranes from Grove and Liebherr, including a 600 tonne Liebherr LTM 1500.8, the third to be added to the Bay Crane fleet. In addition, the company also ordered 14 rough terrain cranes from Tadano, including the new 160 US ton (145 tonne) capacity GR 1600 XL. According to a company spokesperson, half the order has been delivered, with the remaining cranes scheduled for delivery in the latter half of 2014.

In addition to expanding its crane fleet, the company has also added eight new Kenworth heavy haul tractors and 32 axle lines of Goldhofer self propelled electronically steered modular transporter. An additional 80 flat bed and low bed trailers have also been added to the fleet.

The crane rental company is also expanding its services and has announced it has opened a new branch facility in Carlstadt, New Jersey.

Keith Arden, operations manager at the new Carlstadt facility, said, “Our significant investment in equipment, as well as the addition of multiple operations, project management, and sales professionals, highlight our strong commitment to both our clients and our team members to providing the highest quality of service, personnel and equipment in the region.

“Bay Crane has proven its ability to grow organically in the Northeast over the last six years and with the addition of the new Carlstadt facility clearly demonstrates our strong commitment to growth and providing the highest quality service to our heavy lift, rental, and transportation customers,” Arden continued.
