BAM uses Sennebogen in foundation work
02 December 2013
Dutch construction company, BAM Special Underground Construction, part of the Royal BAM Group, used its Sennebogen 6100 XLR-2 on foundation works in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
For the project, 350 steel pile casings are being driven 24 metres into the ground by the Sennebogen before being filled with concrete to create the foundation. To carry out the work the 6100 was fitted with a 120 tonne hammer to drive the piles into the ground, guided by a 52 m frame leader. The 6100 XLR-2 has a reinforced and extended upper carriage and a reinforced body, a company spokesperson added.
In addition, the 6100 XLR-2 has two 20 tonne cable winches, an 11 tonne winch for the leader, a 16 tonne draw winch and a 7.5 tonne network winch.
BAM worked with an ICH hydro-hammer S-120, which has a drop weight of 6.2 tonnes and a length of 8 m. The leader strikes up to 44 times per minute and drives the piles for the foundation work, a company spokesperson added.
