Acquisitive industrial overhead crane company American Equipment Holdings has acquired Eastern Crane & Hoist, an industrial overhead crane and service provider in the south eastern USA.

American Equipment has been a Rotunda Capital Partners company since May 2021. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Eastern Crane and Hoist is based in South Carolina. The acquisition will improve both companies’ provision of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) field services. It will also strengthen the quoting, engineering, new equipment and spare parts supply elements of the business, Rotunda said.

Mark Souza, Walt Cannon and Scott Walsh head Eastern Crane and will remain in their positions.

Commenting on the acquisition Adam Zimmerman, American Equipment CEO, said, “We are truly impressed with their company and customer-first culture they built over decades of hard work. The acquisition of Eastern Crane is the next cornerstone in our growth strategy of expanding our footprint through complementary acquisitions to deliver unprecedented value to overhead crane users across the country.”

The other acquisitions, all made since May 2021, are Washington Crane & Hoist, Pacific Crane & Hoist, and Allied Crane. American Equipment is “aggressively seeking to acquire other overhead crane and material handling equipment and service solution providers,” Rotunda said.
