Scott-Macon stocks DICA outrigger pads

A variety of outrigger pads are now available in the company’s Parts Department.

Scott-Macon Equipment, a leading dealer and rental source in the crane industry, is a DICA outrigger pad dealer with a variety of pads in stock. These pads are useful to help set up and stabilize a variety of cranes and other heavy equipment for enhanced safety and support.

DICA pads are used in electric utility, crane rental, construction, tree care, concrete pumping, mining and drilling operations along with all five branches of the U.S. armed forces and NASA.

“We are pleased to provide our customers with DICA outrigger pads that help make equipment set-ups safer at the job site,” said Allan Woodruff, executive vice president, Scott-Macon Equipment. DICA has a solid reputation for manufacturing effective products.”

Outrigger pads such as these are placed under the outrigger stabilizers of heavy (and light) equipment to help make them more stable for operation, especially on less-than-ideal surfaces such as loose gravel, wet or sandy soils and uneven terrain. They prove their value by distributing the weight of the machinery and any additional loads more evenly and firmly over a larger surface area.

Built using DICA’s proprietary engineered thermoplastic material, every outrigger pad is designed and sized to never physically or functionally fail, the company said. Trusted by operators, they offer easy handling and can withstand up to 500 psi crush ratings and rated capacities of 210,000 lbs. They are also waterproof, resistant to chemicals, and do not conduct electricity.
