A pair of new 60 tonne-metre class cranes expand F.lli Ferrari’s heavy crane range.

The Italian manufacturer has added two models: the 9601C with Standard Lifting Control System and the 9661C with Proportional Lifting Control System. Lifting capacity of the latter model is 10 percent greater than 9601C.

The new models are designed to be strong, light and compact with “the best lifting capacity currently available in this segment of the market,” according to the company.

Standard features include a double linkage design, negative second boom angle, up to eight extensions, continuous slewing, and a multifunction radio remote control.

Features of the New Age series include the Auto Levelling System to automatically keep the truck chassis horizontal, and Operator Auto Detection to activate the operator’s closest stabiliser which avoids the need for operator contact, Ferrari said. Front Stabilizer Control is designed to avoid stress and overload of the truck frame.

The Compact Installation Kit sees the hydraulic hoses routed in such a way that it allows more compact crane installation. Dynamic Load Diagram calculates and displays lifting capacity according to the truck’s stability. Magic Touch is the automatic folding and unfolding function between transport and working positions.

Each model has a choice of two jib options, the J1206 Light Jib for lifting horizontally, and the J2006 Heavy Jib for lifting vertically.
